Editorial Note: Article to Video Conversion Service

We plan to launch our new article to video conversion service sometime in September. The goal of the service is to provide authors with an affordable means to quickly convert articles to videos which can then be uploaded to major video sites like YouTube, DailyMotion, MegaVideo, etc. A standard conversion package will be available for the budget-minded and a custom package for those with more specific needs. Watch for updates right here. If you want to be added to our waiting list, drop us a note at: info@goarticles.com

You know the basics of how to submit articles and why article marketing is so beneficial to your website and your business, and now you're ready to jump in with both feet!

This article will teach you what the first steps are when you're ready to put pen to paper. Let's start at the beginning:

What topics should you cover in your articles?

You should always write articles about the same niche as your website. For example:

• If you are a business coach, then all of your articles should be related to teaching people how to run successful businesses.

• If you are a tennis instructor, all of your articles would be related to tennis.

• If you are a dentist, all of your articles would be about teeth and oral healthcare.

You get the idea! Whatever your field is, you should write articles that educate the reader about various aspects of that field.

Is there anything you should not write about in your articles?

You should not try to make a sales pitch for your business, website or products in your article body. Some publishers can interpret any mention of your business, website or products in your article body to be "promotional", and they will consequently decline articles that contain those types of references.

"Promotional" means that it appears that the article is written to benefit you directly, like an advertisement or commercial would benefit a business owner directly. Article marketing works in a very special way in that you DO get something from your article marketing efforts, but the reader of your article should not think that you are only trying to benefit yourself. Here is the rule:

Give, then take.

The article body is where you give. In the article body, you give valuable information about a topic that will help your reader. From looking at the article no one should be able to tell that your motive for writing the article has anything to do with gaining something for yourself.

Then in the resource box you will take. You will talk about yourself, your business, why people should listen to you as an expert on this topic that you are writing about, and why people should visit your website.

The resource box is an author bio that includes a clickable link that leads back to your website. Here are the things you should include in your resource box:

• Be sure to include your name. • Briefly tell the reader who you are, what you do, what your business is, and why they should listen to you.

• It's a great idea to give the reader a reason to visit your website. If a person becomes convinced that they want to see your website, they can click the link in your resource box and be automatically taken there.

• And of course do not forget to include the clickable link to your site!

The resource box is a crucial aspect of your article marketing, so it's important to spend time crafting a strong one.

You may have one resource box that you always use, several pre-made resource boxes that you use for different articles, or you may specially craft a new resource box for each article so that the resource box specifically reflects the topic of the article.

Your clickable link in your resource box does more than just allow a reader to quickly get to your website -- it provides information to Google and the other search engines. This information helps Google decide where your website should be placed in the list of results that shows up when people do searches related to the topic of your site. Remember, every time your article is republished, it earns a new link. The more links that Google sees going to your website, the better.
