| Article Marketing Strategy: |
| |
If you're going to do this, be sure to publish the content on your site first, then re-write the post into an article so that the content on your site remains unique. For SEO purposes, it is best if the content on your website cannot be found elsewhere.
2 - Podcast.
After an article is published, it becomes a podcast. I don't turn every article into a podcast episode -- I just choose 4 or 5 articles a month for this purpose.
3 - Video.
The next thing I do is use the article and the podcast to create a video of the article. Then I upload the videos to YouTube.
4 - E-book.
When I feel the need, I create e-books out of my articles focused on a specific topic in my niche.
Let's say I notice that local business owners are really in need of some article marketing coaching. I gather my articles about local business article marketing, and I assemble them into an e-book.
Some tweaking is necessary to make the book flow from chapter to chapter, and I usually have to add an introduction and a conclusion to the book, as well as fleshing out some areas that need more in depth explanation. The e-book pretty much writes itself, though, because I re-use the content from my articles.
5- Squidoo lens.
If you haven't used Squidoo, I encourage you to play around with it. Pages on Squidoo have an easier time of ranking highly in search engines, so it can be a worthwhile investment to create a quality web page there.
The web pages on Squidoo are called 'lenses'. Don't let that confuse you -- a lens is just a web page. Organize your articles by topic, and then create one or more lenses based off of the articles.
It's rather fun because you can add pictures, and there are tools that let you create surveys for your readers. I created a lens like this, and it very quickly got a decent search engine ranking of its own and a decent PageRank. I didn't even really market the lens -- I just shared it with my list and things took off from there. A little work for a big return.
These are the ways that I reuse/recycle my articles. Don't feel like you need to do all of these extra things right away or ever -- just pick out one to focus on. You will experience an immense feeling of satisfaction to see your hard work being reused in more than one format.
Which of these ideas appeals to you? When will you set aside some time to get started?

Here's the trick:
Do the opposite. Instead of finishing by trying to force your keywords into your already constructed article and title, use your keywords as a beginning point. Take your keyword phrase and brainstorm some natural sounding titles that incorporate that phrase. Then, write an article to satisfy the title.
Let's look at some examples of keyword rich titles (listing the keyphrase first, then the titles):
*Healthy Eating Habits*
10 Healthy Eating Habits That Will Help You Live Longer
Healthy Eating Habits For Children
*Short Track Speed Skating*
The History of Short Track Speed Skating
Short Track Speed Skating: A Beginner's Guide
Each one of these titles makes sense, is comprehensible to a human reader, and is engaging enough to catch the attention of a reader interested in any of these topics. These titles are keyword rich, while still appealing to human readers. This is what you're going for!
Notice that each of these phrases is a long tail keyword phrase (3-5 words long). When you are doing your keyword research you will come up with a list of long tail keyphrases and a list of 2 word keyword phrases. The long tail phrases are to be used in generating article titles and topics. The shorter main phrases are to be used in your resource boxes.
Does It Matter Where I Put My Keyphrase In My Title?
You may notice that some of the sample titles have the targeted phrase at the beginning of the title. If you can manage it in a natural sounding way, try to include the phrase at the beginning of the title. If not, don't worry about it.
The point is not to use a strict title formula each time. Your goal is to generate quality titles that will attract readers, convey what the article is about, and also incorporate the keyphrase in a natural sounding way. If you come up with a great title that has the keyword phrase at the middle or the end of the title, then that's fine. Focus on creating titles that are interesting and appealing to your target readers.
After you have gone through your list of long tail keywords and generated a few titles for each, then pick a title and write an article for it.
You see, this is the reverse of what many people do -- take your key phrase, then brainstorm titles, then write an article that fulfills what the title promises. The result is a natural looking title and article. This is the type of article and title that readers, publishers, and search engines will love.

2 - Have higher standards. Your articles can stand out by being of higher quality than the abundance of sub-par articles that are floating around the internet. Go the extra mile by having a friend proofread your article for grammar and spelling issues. A well-written article stands out from the crowd.
3 - Never stop learning. Do you think you know all you need to know to do your work? That may be true, but when you are submitting articles, there are perks to continuously expanding your knowledge on your topic. The more you learn and know, the more you can teach to others.
4 - Be creative. It doesn't matter if your particular topic has been covered a million and one times, there is still a new angle that you can take. Think about your favorite teacher in school, the one that made you love Math, Science, Greek, or English. What made the teacher stand out to you? Most likely it was the creativity and passion with which that teacher conveyed his or her knowledge. Many teachers can be teaching the same topic, but one can stand out if they are creative.
5 - Teach effectively. Are you worried that because there are tons of articles already on your particular topic that it's all been said and done? If a topic is popular on the internet, it is because there are many people who are interested in it. If the topic has been exhausted and a definitive answer has already been published, why are there still people searching for the answer? Think about it - no matter how many articles are on your general topic, there are still readers who are confused, who are searching, who are in need of an explanation that they can understand. Teach your topic better than those who have written about it previously, and your articles will have an edge.
6 - Look for overlooked topics. There may be tons of people writing about your niche, but there is no way that every last topic has been covered. Look for topics that remain unexplored. Remember that many people are looking for basic information on your topic. Many times it is the most obvious and basic topics that are overlooked.
7 - Write an article summary that attracts attention. The article summary is visible in search engine results listings and also on most article directories where your article is published. Write your summary carefully - use it as a marketing tool to lure readers into reading your article. Specifically, what will your article teach the reader? What benefits will the reader gain by reading your article?
Which of these tips will you use on your next article? Gradually work on incorporating all 7 tips and watch your articles jump off the screen and catch your target readers' attention.

Editorial Note: Become a GoArticles Expert Author• Submit 20 articles per day versus 10. • Get your articles highlighted in the search results with an Expert Author icon. • Only Expert Author articles appear on the GoArticles homepage under Recent Articles & Most Viewed articles. Writing articles is a constant process of improving your writing style. Over the last 7 years of doing article marketing, my writing has improved tremendously as I've experimented and set my standards higher and higher. I'd like to share the 5 article marketing tips that have helped my writing improve the most: 1 - Create a word count limit for your article. When you set a word count goal, it forces you to keep your focus. You'll find that you are writing much more efficiently. 2 - Say what you need to say as simply as possible. For those of us who like to elaborate and go off on tangents, this guideline can be a challenge, but definitely something to work towards!
3 - State the point of your article from the first sentence. Your reader will look at your title and the first sentence to decide whether he wants to read your article. You greatly increase the likelihood that the reader will peruse your full article if you can rope him in right at the beginning. Resist the urge to write a lengthy and complicated introduction. Get to the point quickly. 4 - Teach your readers. Your main purpose in writing articles is to provide helpful information to your target readers. If your article fails to do this, it will not be successful on any other level. Focus on teaching in your articles - forget about promoting your business, getting backlinks, and hyping products. Think of common questions that your readers have, and then write your articles as solutions to those questions. 5 - Do not ignore the concluding paragraph of your article - experiment with different strategies that will subtly draw your reader from your article body into your resource box. Here are a few ideas: • Give your readers a homework assignment, something that they should do as a result of reading your article. Ideally, every article you write should bring about some sort of action from the reader. If the article is helpful, it will aid the reader in doing something that he needs to do. • Ask the reader a question at the end of your article. This helps engage the reader; it is an invitation to further dialogue with you. If you do not create some sort of enticement to take another step towards you after reading your article, the reader may just read the article and move on to the next. Your conclusion is a wrap-up of what you have said in your article, and it can also be a bridge between your article and your resource box. Asking a question at the end of your article is a very subtle way of saying to the reader, "Let's continue this conversation outside of this article." The next thing the reader sees is your resource box which offers a method of contacting you - your website. These are the 5 things that I've learned over the years that have helped me write more effectively and more efficiently. If you are a beginner and are struggling to produce articles, it is encouraging to know that it gets easier the more you do it. You don't have to write for years and years before getting better. Just apply a few of the article marketing tips I've listed here, and you will immediately improve. Your homework: Pick one of these 5 tips to focus on in your next article. Which one will you start with?
