Are you looking for tricks for getting more publishers to pick up your articles for publication? Have you been looking at your article views and thinking, "What am I doing wrong?"

I've got 5 article marketing tips that will help you create articles that work at maximum efficiency for you:

Article Marketing Tip #1: Remember that the quality of your articles matters.

Each article that you write must be written to help your target readers. Your articles must be useful, easy to read, grammatically correct, and on the same general topic as your website.

Article Marketing Tip #2: Look back at the statistics (views, etc.) of your previous articles, and you will probably notice that some of your articles are more popular than others.

Why do some articles outperform others?

It could be the title. A good title is very specific, conveys exactly what the article is about, and is phrased in a way that gets a reader's attention. There are also different types of titles:

There's the "question title", the "Top Tips" title, the "How To" title, the "keyword rich" title, etc.

If you suspect that your title was exceptionally good on your most popular article, try to write another headline and accompanying article that is in a similar format. This takes some playing around, but the article title plays a huge role in the success of your article, so you will want to take the time to experiment.

Article Marketing Tip #3: Use long tail keyword phrases as your article topics and titles.

Your main keyword phrases are 2-3 words long.

A long tail keyword phrase is usually 3 or more words.

For example, your main keyword phrase may be 'hire electrician', and one of your long tail keyword phrases may be "How much does it cost to rewire a house?"

See, the long tail keyword phrase would already make a great title, and by your research you know that this is a popular phrase that people are typing into Google. By using long tail keyword phrases as your titles and article topics, you're creating content that people are already searching for.

Article Marketing Tip #4: Submit via an automatic article submission service.

When you submit automatically, your article is distributed to many publishers who then publish your article on their websites.

So, instead of submitting to one article directory and then waiting around for publishers to find your article on that one directory and republish it, you are taking a more proactive approach by directly submitting your article to hundreds of publishers with the press of a button.

This is the most effective way to do article marketing -- no more watching your stats on one lonely directory hoping that a publisher stumbles upon your article. When you use an automatic article submitter, you are getting many republications right off the bat -- now that's immediate gratification!

Article Marketing Tip #5: Be consistent in your article submissions.

One or two articles will not make your article marketing campaign successful -- you need to get some momentum going to see your best results.

You should be submitting articles every month as long as you have your website. If you're submitting automatically, 8 articles is a good number to submit on a monthly basis. If you're submitting by hand, you'll need to submit substantially more articles to see results.

The number 1 reason why article marketing fails is a lack of consistency. If you submit the correct number of articles each month over the long term, then you won't need to pin your hopes on the individual performance of each article. This is especially true if you are using an automatic article submitter.

No matter how long you've been article marketing, you never stop learning how to write better articles and execute a more effective article marketing campaign. Focus on implementing the 5 tips above, and you will give your articles the best chance possible of being republished!

How to Create an "Ah-Ha!" Article

by Steve Shaw  |  Published in: Business/ECommerce

If you ask your target readers what types of articles they would like you to write, I'm sure that they would all say they are looking for an article that will give them something that they need, offer a solution to a problem that they have, and give them information that would make their lives better.

No matter what your niche is, your target readers all want the same thing -- they want to read your article and say, "Ah-Ha! That's a great idea! I'm going to try what this article suggests."

Your goal as the author is to create that "Ah-Ha!" article.

But how in the world are you supposed to know what your target readers really need?

That's what we're covering in this article. Here are 5 tips for discovering what your readers really need:

1 - Do keyword research.

Some people think that the purpose of doing keyword research is to make their articles more appealing to the search engines. Actually, the search engines' main purpose is to provide results that are useful to their customers (who are also your customers), so what you're really after when doing keyword research is finding out what your target readers need.

What are they searching for when they type questions into Google?

How do they phrase their questions?

When looking for article topics that reflect what your target readers need, do research on your longer keyword phrases (long-tail phrases) that ask a question or are very specific.

For example, this long-tail keyword phrase would make an excellent article:

"How Much Does It Cost To Rewire A House?"

2 - Look at your own website statistics and see what people are typing into Google to reach your website.

Your website statistics program should tell you what search terms people typed into Google, etc., in order to reach your site. Sometimes these search terms are enlightening. You may find that people are arriving at your site looking for specific information that you do not currently provide. Why not write articles and website content that satisfy what people are looking for on your site?

3 - What questions do your customers routinely ask you?

Sometimes when you are the owner of a business, your expertise can cause you to forget about some of the more elementary aspects of your niche. Look for customer questions that come up repeatedly. If two or three people asked the same question, it's likely there are many others wondering the same thing.

Also, look for interesting questions that make YOU think and dig down deep. You can use each of these compelling questions as an article topic.

4 - If you have a blog, look at your reader comments for areas of confusion that could be explained in an article. If you don't have a blog, you can still employ this technique by studying the comments on blogs in your niche.

5 - What challenges have you faced in your field, and what have you learned as a result?

If you're active in your niche, you will have encountered perplexing situations and circumstances when you were not quite sure what to do or how to do something. As an expert in your niche, you then set about to find a solution to your challenge. Why not share your lessons with others? Let your target readers benefit from your own personal experiences and experiments in forging new ground.

Which of these tips will you use in writing your next article?

Remember, your goal is always to make your readers think, solve one of their problems, and hopefully make them say, "Ah-Ha!"

Writing Articles and Crafting Resource Boxes

by Steve Shaw  |  Published in: Business/ECommerce

Editorial Note: Article to Video Conversion Service

We plan to launch our new article to video conversion service sometime in September. The goal of the service is to provide authors with an affordable means to quickly convert articles to videos which can then be uploaded to major video sites like YouTube, DailyMotion, MegaVideo, etc. A standard conversion package will be available for the budget-minded and a custom package for those with more specific needs. Watch for updates right here. If you want to be added to our waiting list, drop us a note at: info@goarticles.com

You know the basics of how to submit articles and why article marketing is so beneficial to your website and your business, and now you're ready to jump in with both feet!

This article will teach you what the first steps are when you're ready to put pen to paper. Let's start at the beginning:

What topics should you cover in your articles?

You should always write articles about the same niche as your website. For example:

• If you are a business coach, then all of your articles should be related to teaching people how to run successful businesses.

• If you are a tennis instructor, all of your articles would be related to tennis.

• If you are a dentist, all of your articles would be about teeth and oral healthcare.

You get the idea! Whatever your field is, you should write articles that educate the reader about various aspects of that field.

Is there anything you should not write about in your articles?

You should not try to make a sales pitch for your business, website or products in your article body. Some publishers can interpret any mention of your business, website or products in your article body to be "promotional", and they will consequently decline articles that contain those types of references.

"Promotional" means that it appears that the article is written to benefit you directly, like an advertisement or commercial would benefit a business owner directly. Article marketing works in a very special way in that you DO get something from your article marketing efforts, but the reader of your article should not think that you are only trying to benefit yourself. Here is the rule:

Give, then take.

The article body is where you give. In the article body, you give valuable information about a topic that will help your reader. From looking at the article no one should be able to tell that your motive for writing the article has anything to do with gaining something for yourself.

Then in the resource box you will take. You will talk about yourself, your business, why people should listen to you as an expert on this topic that you are writing about, and why people should visit your website.

The resource box is an author bio that includes a clickable link that leads back to your website. Here are the things you should include in your resource box:

• Be sure to include your name. • Briefly tell the reader who you are, what you do, what your business is, and why they should listen to you.

• It's a great idea to give the reader a reason to visit your website. If a person becomes convinced that they want to see your website, they can click the link in your resource box and be automatically taken there.

• And of course do not forget to include the clickable link to your site!

The resource box is a crucial aspect of your article marketing, so it's important to spend time crafting a strong one.

You may have one resource box that you always use, several pre-made resource boxes that you use for different articles, or you may specially craft a new resource box for each article so that the resource box specifically reflects the topic of the article.

Your clickable link in your resource box does more than just allow a reader to quickly get to your website -- it provides information to Google and the other search engines. This information helps Google decide where your website should be placed in the list of results that shows up when people do searches related to the topic of your site. Remember, every time your article is republished, it earns a new link. The more links that Google sees going to your website, the better.
